Beer, Food and updates . . .
So, I have updated Cletus’ page. Cletus, if you’re out there, enjoy my man! I will add to it as I find more.
Added a few local (and newer) brewing companies that are located here in Austin. You should check them out, as I know I am going to do this weekend. I would also like to check out the Austin Farmers Market either tomorrow or Saturday. Maybe grab some of those fine local brews while I am out. Can’t hurt while I am grilling this weekend.
I also went to Costco today. In the trying financial times that we are having today, I thought I might share a tip that I have done over the years. Amongst other purchases today, we picked up a full pork loin. Usually what I do with that is to cut it into 2-3 inch cuts which I then cut further into butterfly pork chops. Easiest thing in the world to do. Best part is, I have a freezer full of pork chops that cost about $1 a piece (did the math today just to figure it out). And, I get to cut them to the thickness I want. Which I am not always able to get at HEB. If desired, you can do the same with a PSMO (full beef tenderloin) which you can then cut into steaks. Need to a little more trimming on that, but the cost of a cut of steak that melts in your mouth becomes, not only more manageable, but a staple in your freezer.
Oh, and I think in my first installment, I said I would share things that you wouldn’t care about. Here’s another one. My co-workers believe I have a Penguin fetish. In reality, it’s not a fetish. I am simply in sole possession of the knowledge that the zombie penguins are poised for mass invasion (well, at least until this is published). I may share more info on this later.
Happy sleepless nights.
